We’re wrapping up the 2024-2025 Rotary year with full hearts and big smiles. From bowling nights to tornado relief, service projects to fellowship, we've done it all together.
The 2024–2025 Rotary year was a powerful chapter for Ada Sunrise Rotary. Led by President Christen Puckett-Smith, our club embraced service, strengthened friendships, and stepped boldly into the community. From tornado relief to teacher grants, from glass recycling to joyful fellowship events, we’ve embodied the Rotary spirit in every project and gathering.
Goal Highlights from the Year:
- Service Projects: 12+ impactful efforts, including tornado relief, nursing home cards, dog food donations, and more
- Fellowship Events: 6 major social activities, Laser Zone bowling, Paint & Sip, Christmas party, Siege Axe Lounge, and others
- Foundation Giving: Increased donations to Rotary International Foundation and Polio Plus
- Membership Growth: Thanks to Membership Chair Elaine Rhynes (also voted Rotarian of the Year!), we grew and retained engaged new members
- Bylaws Modernized: Successfully updated our club bylaws to better reflect today’s members
- Rotary Branding: Used official Rotary materials to promote our club and its activities
- Youth Engagement: Sponsored a Rotaract Club and continued participation in youth leadership opportunities
As we welcome incoming President Dylan Peterson, we also take a moment to express deep gratitude to Christen for her incredible year of leadership.
Here's a message from Past President Christen Puckett-Smith:
I cannot express what the last year has meant to me personally. I don’t know how to be a past-president, but I know I’ll figure it out.
I’m so proud of Dylan stepping into the Presidency of our beloved club, Ada Sunrise Rotary.
This year we accomplished all of our goals and had a great time doing it. We socialized more, helped our community more, and increased our giving to Rotary International Foundation and Polio Plus.
The club grew our membership thanks to the amazing work of our Membership Committee Chair, Elaine Rhynes, who you also voted as our Rotarian of the Year. We retained those members, and now they’re serving on committees close to their hearts and thriving.
Being ASR President brought personal growth I didn’t expect, and I’ve gained friendships that will last my lifetime. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Sunrise in 2025–2026.
Love always,
Christen Puckett-Smith
